New Ropes and Snapped Ropes are trinkets from the Epiphany mod. They're unlocked by defeating Mother as 
Tarnished Samson.
Effects
While held, New Ropes lower the player's damage stat by 1.5 and tears stat by 0.5, and will transform into Snapped Ropes if the player completes at least 12 rooms, each room completed having an 80% chance of being taken into account; note that Challenge rooms count as 4, Boss rooms count as 5, and the Boss Rush counts as 20.
Snapped Ropes increase the player's damage stat by 1.5 and tears stat by 0.5.
Trivia
- New Ropes' name, flavor text, and effects is a reference to Samson's story in the Book of Judges, where the men of Judah tie Samson with two new ropes in order to hand him over to the Philistines, before he ultimately breaks free and kills a thousand of them utilizing a donkey's jawbone.
